Although Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday that Gonzalez was progressing faster than expected in his recovery, he'll still miss several weeks as a precaution. Wilmer Difo, Cole Tucker and Rodolfo Castro could see increased playing time while Gonzalez is sidelined, and the Pirates also signed Dee Strange-Gordon to a minor-league contract Wednesday.
