Ortiz will start at first base in Monday's Opening Day matchup against the Phillies, Scott Lauber of the Boston Herald reports. Ortiz typically serves as the designated hitter, but will have to play the field in order to get into the Opening Day lineup in a NL ballpark. Though the fielding may be spotty, that doesn't necessarily matter from a fantasy perspective in most formats, so owners with daily lineup changes can safely deploy the slugger Monday.
