Oritz, who had batted third for a stretch of games this week, was back in the cleanup role for Friday's game against the Twins, the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager John Farrell wanted to get a look at Xander Bogaerts in the 4-hole (2-for-12 in four games) and Ortiz in the 3-hole (1-for-11), but switched back Friday, noting that Bogaerts will be batting third for the time being. Ortiz, of course, has been a very productive cleanup hitter for Boston. He's just 3-for-22 in nine spring games this year, but he's been a notoriously unproductive hitter during the spring throughout his career.
