Orioles right-handed pitching prospect Kevin Gausman struck out five in 4 2/3 shutout innings on Saturday for Triple-A Norfolk. Gausman allowed three hits and walked one batter in his fifth start of the season. He is clearly limited to no more than 75 pitches per start, as his pitch totals for the season have been 74, 72, 67, 74, and 75. Gausman threw 99 2/3 innings in 2013, so he is unlikely to exceed 140 in 2014, so the Orioles are clearly saving him to bring him back to the major leagues during the summer.
