Orioles manager Buck Showalter indicated that T.J. McFarland could be a candidate to secure one of the final spots in the rotation this spring. Showalter noted that McFarland is having a great season in the Venezuelan Winter League. The 24-year-old lefty was a Rule-5 selection from the Indians, and worked out of the bullpen for the O's this past season posting a 4.22 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 58/28 K/BB ratio in 74 2/3 innings.
