Ryan rejoined the major-league roster July 9 and allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out one in 1.2 innings across two relief appearances during his stint with the Cubs. He'll head back to the minors after right-hander Dillon Maples (triceps) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.
