The Marlins optioned Encarnacion to Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The 24-year-old outfielder was one of four players demoted to minor-league camp in the Marlins' latest round of roster cuts. Encarnacion will move up a level to begin the 2022 campaign after he spent the majority of the 2021 season at Double-A Pensacola, where he slashed .222/.308/.400 with nine home runs and five stolen bases over 260 plate appearances.
