Englert will serve as the opener for Wednesday's game against the Angels, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Englert was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Monday, and Wednesday will mark his first time pitching in the majors since June 24. The 24-year-old righty owns a 5.95 ERA and 1.32 WHIP through 19.2 innings with Detroit on the season, although he's allowed five runs (four earned) over 13.2 frames in Triple-A since his last MLB outing. Kenta Maeda is expected to work in bulk relief once Englert is taken out of the game.
