O'Brien was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Friday, Steve Berthiaume of Fox Sports Arizona reports.

O'Brien, who was hitting .330 for Reno with 17 home runs in 51 games, will take the spot of Edwin Escobar, who was optioned down. It's unclear what exactly O'Brien's role will be, but the 25-year-old does offer considerable pop when he's in the lineup.
