Nova and the Yankees settled on a $4.1M deal Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Jack Curry of the YES Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nova struggled down the stretch in 2015, getting the loss in seven of his last eight starts while posting a 7.02 ERA. Right now Masahiro Tanaka, Michael Pineda, Luis Severino, and Nathan Eovaldi are seemingly locked into the first four rotation spots, meaning Nova will have to prove he can perform at a higher level if he wants a chance to crack the rotation. The 29-year-old could enter 2016 as the fifth starter or in the bullpen, making him a player to keep an eye on throughout spring training.
