Nova (3-1) pitched six quality innings, allowing just one run on four hits while not issuing a walk and striking out three in Thursday's win over the A's.
EDGE Analysis
Making his third start since taking over C.C. Sabathia's spot in the rotation, Nova needed just 62 pitches to win his second consecutive game. In his first start on May 9, Nova was pulled with a 5-1 lead after 4.2 innings. Had manager Joe Girardi let the big right-hander get one more out, Nova would be a perfect 3-0 in his first three starts. His pitch count will continue to be monitored as he adjusts back into a starting role after beginning the year in the bullpen.
