Nolasco didn't factor into the decision Saturday versus the Tigers and gave up three earned runs on five hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander acquitted himself reasonably well but was once again done in by homers. J.D. Martinez opened the scoring on the night with a 398-foot shot in the second with one aboard, and old nemesis Justin Upton, who Nolasco has struggled with throughout his career, tagged him for a sixth-inning solo shot. The 34-year-old has now given up two homers in each of his last three starts and in three prior trips to the mound as well. His control was also an issue Saturday, with the four free passes he issued serving as a season high. Nolasco will try to get back on track in a Friday road start against the Mets.
