Nimmo is one of 17 non-roster players invited to the Mets' spring training, MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports. Nimmo was the 13th overall pick in the 2011 draft, so he's definitely more notable than most of the non-roster invites for the Mets. Still, his 2015 ambitions more realistically reside in Triple-A than the majors, as he just made it to the Double-A level for 65 games in 2014. His batting average dropped from .322 to .238 with the promotion, so the soon-to-be 22-year-old will look to adapt to the elevated level of competition this year. Despite striking out more often in Double-A, Nimmo maintained an intriguing walk rate of 14.8 percent.
