Nimmo has been traded to the Reds along with two low-level prospects in a deal that will send Jay Bruce to the Mets, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.

With the Reds, Nimmo should see regular playing time against right-handed pitching down the stretch in a bid to secure a starting role heading into 2017. Despite impressive Triple-A numbers this season (.336/.409/.517), Nimmo has been unable to replicate that level of success during limited opportunities in his first year as a big league player, posting a .236/.300/.291 line over 18 games this season for the Mets.
