Nieuwenhuis took over in center field Thursday after Keon Broxton (nose) was hit by a pitch, going 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a 2-1 loss to the Rockies.

Broxton looks like he'll avoid a DL stint but is considered day-to-day with a small nasal fracture, so Nieuwenhius could see additional playing time this weekend while the Brewers host the Cubs. With lefty Brett Anderson taking the mound Friday, though, don't be surprised if Hernan Perez gets the nod in center instead should Broxton still be unavailable.
