Nieuwenhuis passed a kidney stone Thursday and will thus be out of Friday's lineup, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. Nieuwenhuis has a fairly impressive slash line (.242/.342/.455) but his counting stats (three home runs and four steals) over 57 games aren't very intriguing in standard leagues. Consider him day-to-day for now.
