Nieuwenhuis is starting in left field Sunday. Niewenhuis has seen just 23 at bats this season and has gotten somewhat stale on the bench. After a strong spring, he is just 2-for-23 as the main lefty pinch-hitter off the bench and occasional starter. Nieuwenhuis gets a chance Sunday to boost those stats and possibly show he deserves more playing time.
