Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Red Sox "will make an attempt" on A's closer Andrew Bailey. Oakland GM Billy Beane has indicated that he plans to ask for the world in trade talks for Bailey, and that may scare most teams away, but the Red Sox are at least going to try. If it doesn't work out, Boston will likely look back to the free agent market for their next ninth-inning man.
