Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Pirates and Brewers have been scouting Mike Carp. Carp could be a nice addition for either team as a platoon option at first base. The 27-year-old is coming off a nice year off the bench for the Red Sox, having batted .296/.362/.523 with nine home runs and 43 RBI across 86 games. He was arbitration-eligible for the first time this offseason.
