Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington met with Bob Garber, free agent Roy Oswalt's agent, last week. Oswalt didn't have a great season with the Phillies, posting a 3.69 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and career-low 6.0 K/9 rate, but that hasn't kept a good number of teams from expressing interest in him. In addition to the Red Sox, the Yankees, Royals and Nationals appear to have interest, and the Phillies also want to re-sign him.
