EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old endured a nightmare in the 12th that seemed to never end, as he was stranded out there for 47 pitches, with the Pirates already having utilized a plethora of relievers before him. Nicasio was coming off an 89-pitch, five-inning outing versus the Mets on Tuesday, which netted his fifth victory of the season. He surrendered a pinch-hit double to fellow pitcher Adam Wainwright to open the floodgates, and then yielded an RBI double to Matt Adams, and eventually, a two-run homer to the red-hot Brandon Moss. The right-hander is still scheduled to take the mound again on Tuesday for his next scheduled start versus the Mets.
