Newcomb (2-7) allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five across 4.2 innings, but received no decision Saturday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Newcomb had allowed just one run going into the fifth inning before running into trouble, and although he left the contest with a 4-2 deficit, the offense came back in the bottom of the frame to take him off the hook for a potential loss. This was the first time in seven starts that he's allowed more than three earned runs and despite a 1.55 WHIP, he's maintained a decent 4.36 ERA. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Cubs.
