New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira underwent a CT scan after fouling a ball off his knee Monday against the Minnesota Twins, and it showed a significant bruise but no fracture, according to the YES Network. Teixeira suffered the injury during an at-bat in the sixth inning Monday, and while he was able to draw a walk to complete the at-bat, he was removed for a pinch-runner after making his way to first base. It is unclear how long Teixiera will be sidelined, but he will meet with team doctors Tuesday to help determine his recovery plan. “Right below the knee,” Teixeira told the New York Daily News, referring to where he was hit by the ball. “Just a bad spot. Hopefully, it feels better (Tuesday). It just hurts to put any pressure on it right now. You don’t want to get hit there."
