New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira is not in the lineup Sunday against the Cleveland Indians because of a leg injury, according to the team's official website. Teixeira, who has been out since suffering the injury last Monday against the Minnesota Twins, was able to take batting practice Sunday, giving the team optimism that he could return to the lineup Monday against the Houston Astros. "As much as we've tried to get him back in the lineup, he's still hurting," Yankees manager Joe Girardi told NJ.com on Saturday. Teixiera suffered the injury when he fouled a ball off his shin that hit him just above the shin guard that he wears on his right leg, and he was diagnosed with a deep bone bruise after undergoing an MRI. He has had an excellent bounce back year, as he is hitting .257 with 31 home runs and 79 RBI in 109 games after hitting .216 with 22 home runs and 62 RBI in 123 games last season.
