Manager Oliver Marmol said that Matz (shoulder) will throw a "vigorous" bullpen Friday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

If all goes well, the southpaw is expected to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday.
