Moronta (elbow) plans to begin a rehab assignment early next week, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.

Moronta threw live batting practice in early July, and he's slated to throw a bullpen session this weekend. The right-hander has been sidelined since the beginning of May due to an elbow strain, but he could be on track to return to the Giants in the near future.
