Montgomery intends to opt out of his minor-league deal with the Yankees on Tuesday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old inked a minor-league pact with New York in early April, and it apparently included a June 1 opt out if he wasn't in the majors. Montgomery spent camp with the Mets but was released at the end of spring training after missing out on the Opening Day roster.
