Toronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said that right-hander Nate Pearson's (hernia) injury issues have been related to a sports hernia. Pearson will pitch in relief the rest of the year and is scheduled to get back on a mound next week. Atkins says the plan is to get Pearson back into the rotation next season to continue his development as a starter.
