Napoli went 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts in Tuesday's 12-2 win over the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
The lumbering slugger has produced only one hit in his last 26 at-bats, resulting in his batting average dropping back below the Mendoza Line for the season. With Napoli striking out in more than a third of his plate appearances and not providing enough value in the field or has a power hitter to compensate, it's worth wondering if manager Jeff Banister may consider benching him more regularly now that Joey Gallo is healthy again. Gallo will play nearly every day regardless, but after Delino DeShields thrived while Gallo was on the disabled list, there may be some motivation for the Rangers to continue to give DeShields consistent at-bats, which would more than likely come at Napoli's expense.
