Calhoun will be on the Opening Day roster, independent baseball journalist Jeff Wilson reports.
EDGE Analysis
Calhoun was informed by manager Chris Woodward that he's made the roster, which makes official what everyone presumed. On Monday, Calhoun started at designated hitter, his expected role entering the regular season, and went 1-for-3 in a game against the Padres. The lefty-hitting outfielder hasn't done much at the plate this spring to earn the starting DH job, slashing .235 /.278/.602 over 36 plate appearances, but the Rangers hope to resurrect the Calhoun who hit 21 home runs over 83 games in 2019 before injuries derailed his career.
