Barnes (shoulder) underwent an MRI on Saturday that revealed some fluid, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Barnes landed on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation this week, and the Red Sox remain hopeful that the right-hander will be able to return after a minimal IL stay following Saturday's MRI results.
