Nottingham was one of four Milwaukee players placed on the IL as the Brewers pared down their active roster to 26 men in advance of Opening Day. The 25-year-old didn't see any action behind the plate this spring while recovering from left thumb surgery, but he was cleared to catch bullpen sessions before the end of camp. He doesn't appear likely to miss significant time to begin the season.
