Moss has quelled the discussion of his recent slump with Tuesday's four-hit performance, but he'll find himself on the bench Wednesday with lefty Jason Vargas starting for the Royals. Nate Freiman will cover first base for the Athletics as a result, but expect Moss to slot back into the lineup Thursday with righty James Shields on the mound.
