MLB.com's Joe Frisaro writes that the Marlins are expected to approach Giancarlo Stanton with a "hefty" contract proposal. It comes on the heels of general manager Dan Jennings saying during an interview Sunday that Stanton is "not available" for trade this offseason. It's been reported that Stanton would not accept a multi-year deal from the Marlins, which is no surprise after he was critical of management following last offseason's fire sale. However, as Frisaro notes, things can always change if they offer enough money. Stanton will be arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter.
