MLB Network's Peter Gammons reports that White Sox GM Kenny Williams hasn't gotten the young, left-handed bat he desires for Carlos Quentin and is expected to hang on to the outfielder. Of course, things could change over the next 24 hours, but with the White Sox very much still in contention in the AL Central, they're not going to give up one of their best hitters until another team blows them away with an offer. They might have been willing to take less had Dayan Viciedo (thumb) been healthy, as he could have taken over for Quentin. The Red Sox and Braves have been the biggest pursuers over Quentin.
