Mike Pelfrey (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery Tuesday. Not unexpected news, but the decision was made official following a visit with Dr. James Andrews. Pelfrey will miss the rest of the 2012 season and will likely be non-tendered this offseason. As such, there's a real chance he has thrown his final pitch as a member of the Mets. The 2005 first-round pick has a 4.36 ERA over 896 1/3 innings in the big leagues.
