Mike Leake pitched fairly well against the Pirates on Saturday, allowing only three runs on four hits through his seven innings of work.
He struck out four and walked four. All of the runs scored against Leake came courtesy of the long ball, which has been his main problem all season. Neil Walker took him deep for a two-run blast in the third and Alex Presley added a solo shot in the seventh, which went on to stand as the winning run. With the quality start, Leake lowers his ERA to 5.97 on the season but falls to 0-4. He'll look to get in the win column for the first time when he takes on the Nationals next time out.
