Mike Leake held the Padres to two runs -- one earned -- on six hits over seven innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out four and walked three. It was an encouraging bounce back start for Leake, who allowed seven runs over five innings one week ago in a loss to the Cardinals. Leake (10-5, 2.86 ERA) doesn't strike out a ton of batters and owns an unsustainably high strand rate at the moment, so we'd bet A-Rod's centaur portrait that he doesn't end the season with an ERA below 3. Even so, he remains a solid mixed league starter.
