Mike Leake fired seven shutout innings against the Padres on Monday. He scattered four hits, struck out five and walked two in the no-decision. Leake was in line for his 11th win before Aroldis Chapman coughed up a 1-0 lead in the ninth inning. Leake continues to defy his peripherals, which suggest that a pitcher with his low strikeout rate and unsustainably-high strand rate can't sustain a 2.59 ERA. He'll need his best stuff on Sunday against the Cardinals.
