It was assumed he'd have a bench spot after the Red Sox acquired him from the Mariners last month, and David Ortiz's setback placed him in position to claim a bigger role. Still, he has to be vulnerable now as much as he's struggled. It might come down to him and Jackie Bradley Jr. for a spot.
