Mike Carp hit a pinch-hit grand slam in the 10th inning to give the Red Sox a 7-3 win over the Rays on Wednesday. The home run was his first pinch homer of the season in 16 pinch-hit at-bats. Carp has played sparingly for the Red Sox this season but the homer was his ninth in 188 at-bats. It's a wonder that the Sox haven't found more ways to get his bat in the lineup, as he's now hitting .314/.374/.564 on the year.
