Mike Carp (foot) will begin a rehab assignment this weekend. Carp was deemed fit for game action after getting through a round of batting practice Tuesday with no issues. The soon-to-be 28-year-old has been out since early June with a fractured right foot, but it appears he'll be ready for activation next week.
