Michael Saunders went 3-for-4 with an RBI double as the Mariners beat the Yankees on Thursday. Saunders has had limited playing time for the Mariners this season and hadn't done much with it, entering Thursday's action with a .600 OPS. But he had three hits out of the lead-off slot against the Yankees, a change manager Lloyd McClendon made earlier in the week. The Mariners' outfield has left a lot to desire offensively, so Saunders can hit his way into increased playing time. Nights like Thursday will need to become a theme.
