Michael Saunders (shoulder) played some catch from a short distance on Monday. It's the first time he's played catch since landing on the disabled list with a sprained right shoulder. Saunders is eligible to return on Friday but might need a rehab start or two first. He might be ready on Friday, and if not, he should be activated shortly after.
