Miami Marlins starting pitcher Mat Latos said he is ready to return to the rotation after recovering from a foot injury, according to the Miami Herald. Latos skipped his last start before the All-Star break after he was hit on the foot by a foul ball on July 5, but has since returned to full strength. “We took a professional measure, which gave me some extra time,” Latos said. “My body feels great. I pitched with one leg early in the year and it wasn’t great." After an extremely tough start to his first season as a Marlin, Latos has lowered his ERA every month since April. The 27-year-old has attributed his success to his return to full fitness, so he appears ready to carry his positive momentum forward once he does return. Latos currently holds a 3-6 record, 4.90 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 75.1 innings.
