Miami Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon could return from the disabled list as early as Tuesday as he continues to recover from an injured thumb, according to MLB.com. Gordon is scheduled to play in a rehab game for High-A Jupiter on Sunday and could join the team afterward, before his activation sometime next week. “It’s possible, yes,” Marlins manager Dan Jennings told reporters Saturday night. “The batting practices have gone very well. He’s not feeling any discomfort. Now we just have got to get him into a game, and see how that feels to swing it [the bat] live.” The 27-year-old has not played since suffering the thumb sprain prior to the All-Star break on July 11 and he is already eligible for activation. An update on when he will be activated will likely be available following his rehab appearance Sunday.
