Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton, out since June 27 with a broken hand, hopes to return before Sept. 1, according to MLB.com. Stanton hit live pitching for the first time this week since landing on the disabled list, but he said he still has some minor discomfort. Manager Dan Jennings said the team will not rush Stanton back to the starting lineup before he is fully healthy. "Time for that is to be determined," Jennings said. "I think it has to do with the strength factor in his hands and wrist. When you're a hitter and the strength is not there, it's tough to feel comfortable swinging the bat. You can be a little tentative. When he feels the strength is there, he'll step on the accelerator. When he's healthy, he'll be back. I know he wants to finish on a positive note. I hope that can be sooner rather than later."
