Mets signed LHP John Lannan to a minor league contract. The deal includes an invitation to spring training. Lannan, 29, started 14 games for the Phillies last season, going 3-6 with a 5.33 ERA and 1.52 WHIP. ESPN New York's Adam Rubin said Lannan will compete for the fifth starter role with the team during spring.
