Mets prospect RHP Jake deGrom allowed one earned run on six hits with six strikeouts and one walk in 5 1/3 innings Thursday for Triple-A Las Vegas. deGrom, 25, has been the best starter this season in a Las Vegas rotation that also features highly touted prospects Noah Syndergaard and Rafael Montero. The right-hander has posted a 1.89 ERA and 28/10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 33 1/3 innings (six starts) so far, while holding opposing batters to a .665 OPS in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. deGrom is already on the Mets' 40-man roster, so he could conceivably get the call this season before his current rotation mates.
