Mets optioned LHP Steven Matz to minor league camp. After overcoming injuries in the early part of his pro career, Matz posted a 2.62 ERA and 121/38 K/BB ratio over 106 1/3 innings last season with Class A Savannah. The 22-year-old is starting to gain momentum in prospect circles.
